I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Duke University. Following an internship at the Duke University Medical Center, I was a fellow in the VA's MIRECC (Mental Illness Research, Education, & Clinical Center) Program. Over the course of these experiences, I obtained training in evidence-based treatments for a range of psychological issues, including struggles with anxiety/stress, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, dysregulating eating/health behaviors, and self-harm. I was also conducting research, with work published in the Journal of Anxiety Disorders, Psychiatry Research, and the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, among other outlets.

After moving into private practice, I spent more than a decade at the Anxiety Disorders Treatment Center (Dr. Reid Wilson, the director of the clinic, is an internationally recognized specialist in OCD treatment). At the clinic, I developed further expertise in helping clients with anxiety disorders, postraumatic stress disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

My therapeutic approach is informed by a range of evidence-based 'cognitive behavioral therapies' (CBT), including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and Metacognitive Therapy.

I am currently providing individual therapy to adults 18+, both at my office located in Chapel Hill, NC, and via a HIPAA-compliant telepsychology (video) service. I am authorized to provide telepsychology to persons residing in any of the 42 states that are participating in the Psychological Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).

Outside of work and family-related activity, I've long been involved in music creation and performance. I also try to squeeze in as much soccer-playing as time allows.
